Ryanair's solution to the crisis: hostesses on a diet to save money!

With the fuel prices skyrocketing Ryanair is prepared to do anything to save money, even to "encourage" their crew members to lose weight. it looks like this is the latest eccentric idea of the eccentric boss Micheal 'O Leary.

Ryanair has introduced several measures in order to lighten their planes as much as possible: for example, the in-flight magazines will be smaller and the crew will serve drinks with less ice cubes.

"The changes will lead to a significant reduction of weight" said the airline's spokesman, Stephen McNamara, adding: "We have also considered the possibility of removing the armrests, but then we decided not to." McNamara also emphasized that the crew's diet has been "motivated" by the promise, by Ryanair, to pick the best fit for their calendar!

The possibility that a variation in air fares is also applied depending on the weight of the individual passenger no longer seems so far away, even considering the fact that already once an Italian passenger was stopped at the airport Beauvais by the check-in staff, and forced by the company to pay, among the general hilarity, 150euros more for being too fat.

It is not just the Irish airline that wants the hostess to be thinner, the Meridiana Fly, a few months ago, had asked its employees to lose weight in anticipation of a new uniform size 42 (French size). But the flight attendants have risen and the CEO was forced to reconsider.
